Tips on Caring for Jewelry
Considering that we saved a lot of money just to buy our ever-longed jewelry, it is worth of taking some time in maintaining it's sparkling appearance. The solution you usually buy from stores contains 50-50 in ammonia and water respectively. However, if you wanted to add more colour to your gemstones, you can save much by adding a drop of red or blue dye to the solution. This solution can be applied to the following; diamonds, rubies, sapphires, topaz, tourmalines, and just about any non-porous stones, along with any gold jewelry.
Pearls, Opal and Lapis Lazuli should not be cleaned with this solution. Also, do not clean your emeralds to ultrasonic cleaners. Mild soap and water solution can be used to clean opals, pearls, Lapis Lazuli and any other gem. This can clean and maintain it's elegance without causing any damage.
