Taking Care of Your Necklaces

To keep the pristine look of your necklaces, keep the following pointers in mind:
- Polish your pieces using non-abrasive cleaning cloth, to prevent scratches. Do not use abrasive cleaners, detergents, and commercial cleaners ‘dips' for necklaces that have an oxidised finish.
- For silver necklaces, you can use soap and water to maintain its quality. Do not dry them off with paper towels or tissues, use a soft cloth instead. You can also use a toothbrush and toothpaste to remove the tarnish.
- Keep your necklaces in a cool, dry place. You can use a Zip-lock bag to avoid tarnishing and scratching.
- Do not dip your silver necklaces in chlorine, salt water, suntan lotion and mineral springs since these will discolor and loosen the gems for those pieces with gemstones.
- Do not wear your necklaces when sleeping, at play and in the shower.
- Intense dryness is damaging especially to pearl necklaces, be careful not to store these pieces in dry areas. They are also sensitive to hair spray, cosmetics, acids and perspiration.
