Akoya pearl – these are saltwater cultured pearls, also known as Tahitian pearls.
Carcanets – from the French word carcan, is a necklace set with precious stones, or strung with pearls. They are oftentimes mentioned by olden dramatists.
Choker necklace – also called simply a choker, is a necklace that snugs very tightly around the neck. It doesn't hang down to the collarbone or chest, but fits around the throat like a collar.
Orient – This is a prismatic effect that is created in pearls with thick, high quality nacre.
Pearl “make” – the thoroughness of matching pearls for size, color, shape, luster and complexion.
Torques – are metals rings that are not closed entirely, but forms a break which can be bent to open. They lay upon the collarbone.
